
Volunteer Coordinator (Full-Time)

The Dubuque Regional Humane Society (DRHS) is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and compassionate Volunteer Coordinator to help grow and support our volunteer and foster programs.
In this role, you'll build relationships with volunteers and foster caregivers, coordinate engaging programs, organize community events, and ensure every volunteer has the tools and support needed to make a lasting impact on the lives of homeless animals.
What You'll Do
As our Volunteer Coordinator, you will:

Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers and foster caregivers.

Coordinate volunteer and foster applications, onboarding, orientations, and training.

Manage volunteer schedules and foster logistics to support daily shelter operations.

Maintain volunteer and foster records, databases, and program documentation.

Communicate regularly through newsletters, email updates, and program announcements.

Coordinate volunteer appreciation initiatives and engagement activities.

Organize community events, group volunteer opportunities, and outreach activities.

Track volunteer hours, foster activity, and key program metrics.

Collaborate with shelter staff to ensure volunteers and foster caregivers have a positive, rewarding experience.

Represent DRHS professionally throughout the community while promoting our mission.

Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.

An excellent communicator who enjoys building relationships.

Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experienced with Microsoft Office, databases, scheduling software, and email communication platforms.

Passionate about animal welfare and committed to supporting the mission of the Dubuque Regional Humane Society.

Able to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays to support events and program needs.
