he Dubuque Regional Humane Society staff mourns the loss of Jane McCall's beloved dog Annie who had suffered a stroke and passed away at 4:30 PM
on January 11, 2007.
She was adopted as a puppy shortly after Jane took on the Executive Director post and built our current shelter in 1991. She had accompanied her to work every day for 14 1/2 years.
Annie and Sunny (who passed in October) were both shelter icons and were well known tri-states public figures! Annie and Sunny both did thousands of pet therapy and school visits in their lifetime and were consider "working dogs" in their prime.
Annie and Sunny always knew which volunteers would give them treats and would follow them around until they relented! She will be so dearly missed and joins Sunny over the Rainbow Bridge where all dogs are young and spry again.
