Youth Programs

Humane Heroes - September -May

Humane Heroes is a junior volunteer program for kids ages 8-11 years old (kids 12 and older are eligible to become a DRHS volunteer with a parent or guardian). Humane Heroes is held the first Saturday of each month from 11 AM to noon, September through May.

Upcoming dates include: February 7, March 7, April 4, May 2. Club does not meet June - August.

Each monthly session includes the chance to socialize with an adoptable cat or dog and to learn about pet responsibilities through games, crafts, and other activities.

Kids & Critters Camp

Kids entering 2nd-6th grades in the fall of 2015 can spend their summer afternoons learning all about animals and participating in a wide variety of demonstrations from local experts. Campers make friends with other, have fun with arts & crafts, and spend a lot of hands-on time with the animals in our shelter. Kids & Critters Camp Registration Form
