Operation Catsnip IV
Operation Catsnip provides free spaying and neutering for the elderly, low income, and multi-cat households. Give the shelter a call at 563-582-6766 or stop by the shelter or our Kennedy Mall Center to request an application. Once your application has been approved, we will contact you and then you will need to get in touch with your vet to set up the spay or neuter appointment. Anyone setting up their own appointments without the permission of the DRHS or their Vet Clinic will not be covered under this program. (Your pet must be current on Rabies and Distemper vaccinations.)

Hot Summer Nites Cruise In (River City Mustang & Ford Club): First Tuesdays at Petsmart. Event runs 6 to 9 PM (dog on display from 6 to 8:30 PM)
Sam's Club: Saturday, June 28 from 10 AM to 2 PM
Dubuque Farmers' Market: Saturday, August 2 from 9 to 11 AM

Volunteer Orientations
Upcoming volunteer orientation dates are:
Thursday, May 15 from 5:30 to 6:30 PM(third Thursday of each month)
Saturday, June 7 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM (first Saturday of each month)

Kids and Companions Club
Our free club for animal-loving kids under 12 meets on the first Saturday of every month (except for November & December) from 11 to Noon. Our club kids will get a chance to socialize with our furry friends, do arts & craft projects and much more! All kids under 6 must be accompanied by a parent. Our 2008 dates include: June 7, July 5, August 2, September 6, and our 4th Annual "Bark 'N' Howl" Halloween Costume Party on October 4.

Basic Agility
We have 11 pieces of basic agility equipment and you're welcome to them every Tuesday from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. Cost is only $5.00 per session.
*Dog must be up to date on vaccinations and have a history of no dog bites. Held INDOOR through April.

Help Wanted at Kennedy Mall Animal Adoption Center
Our Kennedy Mall Animal Adoption Center opened needs helpers to assist the staff with our retail gift area. Helpers do not need to be official DRHS volunteers. Call Ann at 563-582-6766 (ann@dbqhumane.org) if you'd like to volunteer. Click on VOLUNTEERS on our home page for more information.

Grand Pet Excursion!

Hot Summer Nites Cruise In
Our Pets on the Road event takes us to Petsmart once a month for the Hot Summer Nites Cruise In (River City Mustang and Ford Club) from 6 to 9 PM. Check out our featured pet on display from 6 to 8:30 PM.

Fords on the River Days
Fords on the River Days fifth annual car show will be held at Eagle Window and Door on Sunday June 1. Cars will be on display from 11 AM to 3 PM. Boy Scout Troop 48 provides the food for the event.
